Snohomish County Halloween Activities for Fall 2011

Halloween PumpkinAs Washingtonians charge head first into October, we all are noticing the nights have grown colder and longer and the leaves on the trees changing into Fall’s oranges, yellows, and browns. The changes are hard not to notice and with the dismal summer we had it’s nice to look forward to some Fall activities.

Halloween is one of those holidays that brings out more events than just one night a week. Activities and events around Halloween range from the change your underwear scary to the school sponsored dress up days for little ones. Everyone gets to choose their level of scary and the amounts of events and activities in Snohomish County make it easy to decide where to take your family and friends.

In Snohomish County we have the benefit of still being surrounded by farms who in turn host corn mazes (hugely popular), evening Halloween parties, as well as pumpkin patches for kids of all ages. Even now it seems there is still something about Halloween that brings the kid out and I have so much fun trick-or-treating with the nephews and seeing them enjoy this time of year as I once did.

With pumpkin carving, parties, handing out candy and the lively (if that is the appropriate word) activities the in area here is a short list of Halloween activities the whole family can enjoy.

Good to see some people still treating Halloween as a harmless bit of fun. In the UK, sadly, the Christian PC brigade are starting to get their talons into it. Every year, some bishop tries to make name for himself in the newspapers by condemning it.

I’m a believer myself but this attitude just makes me embarrassed to be one. So good for you guys in the land of the free: go for it.

I have heard of that in the UK, I don’t get either. It happens a little bit here but mostly it is used as marketing item to attract business during October. I enjoy Halloween because it is an excuse together with friends and dress up like some crazy Ninja :)
