Granite Falls’ History
Granite Falls started out as a gateway town for Monte Cristo (now a Ghost Town and tourist destination) and received its name for the solid granite which lines the falls just outside of town. Incorporated in 1903, Granite Falls was connected by railroads which where used in transportation of mined materials as well as trees to other Snohomish County cities.
