Jennings Memorial Park

Jennings Memorial ParkIn 1961, the Jennings family donated their family farm to the City of Marysville to preserve the landscape for future generations as well as provide a valuable resource for educators. It is also the City of Marysville’s largest city park at 51 acres spread out through diverse terrain which includes a pond, trails and a creek.

The Big Red BarnThe most notable item in Jennings Memorial Park is the “Big Red Barn” which is located on the Western end near the City of Marysville’s Parks & Recreation building. The “Big Red Barn” can be rented for parties, company meetings and even has cooking and restroom facilities. Right next to the “Big Red Barn” sits a WWII Howitzer anti-aircraft gun, a playground park and a petting zoo to be enjoyed by all.

Watersheds & Fishing Ponds

After walking into the park visitors will come to the Kiwanis Youth Fishing Pond. The pond is open to all youth 12 and under to test and hone their fishing skills. Kiwanis Youth Fishing Pond has many prime fishing holes where parents can watch their youngsters enjoying an American pastime.

Kiwanis Youth Fishing PondThe Kiwanis Fishing Pond is part of Allen Creek which runs through Jennings Memorial Park, Jennings Nature Park to the southern edge of Marysville. It provides many uses some of which are Salmon spawning grounds and a destination for school biology classes.

Other Activities

The Lions Centennial Pavilion cooking shelter is open to the public and features a large covered area with barbeques for family gatherings and birthday parties. It is just over the Allen Creek Bridge on the eastside of the park.

Jennings Memorial Park also features an open air amphitheater where in the sound of music and be throughout the park during the summer.

The Dinosaur Park is just above the Lions Centennial Pavilion cook shelter and amphitheater. Though not as big as the park on the West entrance it still offers a place for kids to burn off excess energy.

Jennings Memorial Park has a full size baseball field on it eastside of the park with its own entrance; where the Adult Softball league holds its games during the spring and summer. Also near the baseball field lays the entrance to the trail connecting Jennings Memorial Park with Jennings Nature Park.
