Stephanie, did you have a personal experience you can share about the haunting? I am fan of Ghost Adventures and would be excited to hear your story.

Hi Tricia Ann, as far as I know there are no cabins for rent at Monte Cristo - let me know if I am mistaken. Cheers!

There is some very real significance about this area. There is more adventure to have here. Hope to find the current owner of the cabins, and rent one for a getaway weekend....summer time.

I also lived at Monte Cristo in the late 70's. My family's possessions were destroyed when the lodge was broken into and set on fire by a greenhorn who didn't know who to use a stove damper.

My husband is the grandson of James M Kyes who built the Boston American Cookhouse, and is nephew of James Ellsworth Kyes who is memorialized there.

I always like to see sites about Monte.

Thanks

Hi Ron, glad you love the site. Monte Cristo is a great hike during the summer and oI still want to snow shoe it during the winter. Scanned slides would be great and I will upload them to the page - my email is toby@barnettassociates.net - are they from the past/present? Enjoy the sun!

Hello,

Love your website and especially your interest in Monte Cristo. My folks were part owners in early 1960's. I have many fond memories of working in the lodge, renting cabins and the like. I do have a few slides I scanned of the place if you are interested.
