Rental Frequently Asked Questions

In an effort to make the rental process more clear Barnett Associates Real Estate, LLC has compiled questions that have been either asked on the website or called in. If a question is not answered with the list please ask your question in the comment section at the bottom of the post, thank you.

If a rental is listed on the website is it available?

Rental Status Screen ShotNot necessarily. Since the website is built on a blog platform all posts (rentals) stay on the website and are never deleted. To determine if a property is available check the Title of the rental listing as well as the Status section located underneath the title.

Who has to fill out a rental application?

Rental applications have to be completed and submitted by everyone who is 18 years of age and older who will be living at the premises. Owner liability issues arise when a tenant of age has not been approved to live at the residence.

How much is the rental application fee?

The rental application fee is $25 per application and has to be paid in cash (see rental payment question for acceptable rent payments).

Who is rent and/or security deposits made payable too?

All rent is made payable to Barnett Associates Real Estate, LLC unless otherwise instructed. In addition please provide property address on the check to enable smoother process of payment and to ensure rent is applied to the appropriate account.

What types of rent and/or security deposit payments are acceptable?

Personal checks, money orders and cashier check are all acceptable. But under no circumstance is cash accepted for rent payments and/or security deposits because of liability when handling cash payments.

On what day is rent considered late?

Rent is considered late at 5pm on the 5th day of the month.

Is there a late rent fee and if so how much is it?

There is a $50 late fee and everyday after the 5th it is an additional $5.

Why don’t some rentals have pictures?

Typically Barnett Associates Real Estate, LLC has pictures of the rentals prior to them being posted on the website. But on occasion rentals will come on the market and the unit is not ready for pictures because either the unit is brand new to us or the unit was not clean/ready for pictures at the time of posting.

Is there a pet policy on the rental properties?

Pet Policy Screen ShotYes, but it on a case by case basis and property by property. Due to liability reasons some property owners do not allow certain types of pets on the premises. On each rental listing, usually the last sentence of the description paragraph and right above the Property Details section, discloses if pets are allowed.

How much is the pet deposit if a pet is approved?

Pet deposits are $300 per pet.

Are any of the units on the website smoking units?

No, all units managed by Barnett Associates Real Estate, LLC are non smoking units.

Is there a minimum leasing term?

Yes, leasing period are a minimum of one year. If a different leasing term is required the only person that can make that decision is Barnett Associates Real Estate, LLC’s property or leasing manager.

In case of redeployment can a lease be terminated early?

Yes, Barnett Associates Real Estate, LLC honors the military clause in case of redeployment which allows military personal to terminate their lease early. So if you are relocating to Snohomish County to serve at Naval Station Everett Barnett Associates Real Estate, LLC can assist.
