On Sunday the 1st Shirley Bartholomew pasted away in her sleep at Cascade Valley Senior Living at the age of 84. Shirley was very influential person in Snohomish County, from her time as a report for KRKO up and till her service on the Marysville city council from 1994 through 2001. Shirley was recently a client when her niece enlisted Mickie’s services to sell her Marysville home. All of us at Barnett Associates Real Estate, LLC wish Shirely’s family the best as they go through this tough time.

– News director at KRKO radio in Everett from 1943-1980
– Earned 5 Associated Press National Awards and a tow-time winner of the AP Managing Editors Citation
– Received the Outstanding Contribution Award from Washington State Press Women in 1968 and 1980
– First female broadcaster named to the Edward R. Murrow-Washington Hall of Fame, 1980
– Snohomish County councilwomen from 1987 to 1988, council chairwoman from 1987 to 1988
– Marysville City Council member from 1994 to 2001
