One of our Arlington clients called asking what we know about the Snohomish County Assessors visiting properties, taking pictures, and stating it was for a 6 year property valuation. We knew the Assessors office conducted site visits in the past yet thought that practice was put out of practice years ago. To learn more about the Assessors visit a call was placed to their office this morning.
The correct department within the Snohomish County Assessor's Office is called the Residential Appraisal Team and that team conducts physical, or curb-side, site visits every 6 years to update County data to reflect any property changes as well update property value in accordance with the Uniform of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).

Another reason to see an assessor's team member on site would be if a taxpayer submitted a petition of value to the Snohomish County Board of Equalization for review of real property valuation determination - see their 2022 petition form here.
